Timimoun is a town in the Adrar in Algeria. Located between the Grand Erg Occidenal in the north and the plateau Tademait the south, it is the main oasis area Gourara.

The city built on top of the palm is known for the color of its buildings ocher. Its architecture - Arab-Sudanese - typical of the region has inspired other cities like Timbuktu Sahel.
